Welcome to Warm Hearts Warm Homes

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

We know that even in the warmest years, Montana's going to get cold in the winter. High energy prices may make it harder for some of our neighbors to stay warm this year.

Since Governor Brian Schweitzer’s Warm Heats Warm Homes call to service began in 2005, AmeriCorps members have provided hands-on energy assistance to almost 11,000 families in all 56 counties and on all seven reservations in Montana. In 2012, AmeriCorps members from Montana Conservation Corps provided basic weatherization assistance to more than 1,100 families and delivered energy and emergency preparedness education to the families participating in the State of Montana’s Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP).

This website has information about weatherization, saving energy and other resources to find help for your family and to find out how you can help others to help stay warm.

Utilities have stepped up to the plate by offering weatherization kits and information. Local County Extension offices can assist with information and training for weatherization. While supplies may cost some money, local businesses may be willing to help with donations. Many HRDC weatherization offices are willing to provide guidance to volunteers in this endeavor.
