Drumlummon Mine
Drumlummon Gold Corporation (DGC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of RX Exploration, Inc.. Subject to shareholder approval, RX Exploration will change its name to RX Gold and Silver, Inc. in early 2012 to more accurately reflect the company’s activities. DGC is submitting this operating permit application to conduct underground mining and milling operations at the Drumlummon Mine near the town of Marysville, Montana in Lewis and Clark County. The project is located in the Marysville mining district, approximately 20 road miles northwest of the city of Helena.
The Drumlummon Mine was located by Thomas Cruse in 1876 after discovery of high grade veins containing gold and silver. The communities of Marysville and Silver City were established to support placer and lode mining in the district as mining continued intermittently at the Drumlummon Mine from the 1880s through the 1940s. Mining activities continued within the Marysville Mining District through the 1980s, with later work focusing on recovery of remaining gold and silver from areas worked by earlier generations.
In 2006, RX acquired the Drumlummon Mine and other mining properties in the Silver Creek drainage. DGC has been conducting surface and underground exploration work under a Montana Department of Environmental Quality Exploration License since February 2008. DGC exploration activities focus on high grade veins that can be extracted using conventional underground methods.
Based on the success of the exploration program, DGC is currently mining ore under a Small Miner Exclusion Statement. Ore is being processed offsite under toll milling agreements. DGC will continue operations under the SMES authorization while awaiting issuance of an operating permit. At that time, DGC operations will be governed by the operating permit.
