Monthly Updates for UST Licensee Holders

- The Facility Summary Sheets have been updated to include whether the tank system meets the requirements of the 2005 Energy Act. Note: We are currently working on completing the updates; If you find any errors, please contact us at (406)444-5300.
- The Underground Storage Tanks program has proposed a technical amendment to ARM 17.56.402 that corrects errors in the internal references of the regulations governing release detection for piping. The amendment makes no substantive changes and no public hearing on the proposal is contemplated. A link to the notice is provided here, and details the process for submitting public comment and the anticipated adoption date.

You may submit comments to the EPA within 90 days of the proposal's publication. - As of September 1, 2011, new permanent nonexpiring tags have been issued to all facilities for all tanks. Keep this in mind when conducting your next compliance inspection.
Here is the administrative rule change that eliminated Operating Tags and implemented "Permanent Nonexpiring Tags". The program still issues a triennial Operating Permit to each facility and as always, you may check here for the facility Operating Permit status, and also check our continuously updated list of tanks not authorized to fill or dispense, known as the "Do Not Fill List".
